NEWS: CALL OUT FOR SOUTH WEST BASED FASHION DESIGNERS

THEATRE ROYAL PLYMOUTH, THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA: A NEW MUSICAL AND ARTS UNIVERSITY PLYMOUTH CALL OUT FOR SUBMISSIONS FROM LOCAL FASHION DESIGNERS WITH THE WINNING DESIGNS BEING SHOWCASED IN THE THEATRE’S FOYER DURING THE MUSICAL’S RUN

Calling all fashion trailblazers… have you created looks that would get two nods from the formidable Miranda Priestly?

In the lead up to The Devil Wears Prada: A New Musical coming to Theatre Royal Plymouth from 6th July for its exclusive pre-West End season, TRP is on the hunt for the next big thing in haute couture, and your designs could be the talk of the town.

Today, TRP, The Devil Wears Prada: A New Musical and course leaders from Arts University Plymouth’s BA (Hons) Costume Production and BA (Hons) Fashion Design degrees are collaborating to seek fashion and costume designers, specifically from the South West, who would like to be in with the chance to showcase their creations at the theatre during the run of the brand-new show, from 6th July – 17th August.

The most popular designs will be unveiled in TRP’s front of house area by The Devil Wears Prada cast, where they will remain for all audiences to admire across the six-week run – plus, the winners will receive two tickets to come and see the show on our special gala night performance on Thursday 25th July.

To be in with a chance to present your work at TRP, submit photos / videos of your designs that scream ‘hautter than hell!’ to marketing@theatreroyal.com by Friday 7th June. Chosen entrants will be notified by Friday 14th June.

Submissions are welcomed from fashion and costume designers of all ages and experience levels. Entrants can submit looks from their collections or current projects that have already been made. Brand new designs do not have to be created for this competition.

Good luck! And let’s see if Miranda will give you a fashion nod….
