NEWS: NEW CHITTY CHITTY BANG BANG TOUR ANNOUNCED

A brand new tour of truly scrumptious musical Chitty Chitty Bang Bang has been announced today. The production will be flying into theatres around the UK from Spring 2024.

Bursting with unforgettable songs by the renowned Sherman Brothers including Hushabye Mountain, Toot Sweets, Truly Scrumptious and the title song Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, this brand-new production is produced by Crossroads Live and is directed by Thom Southerland (Titanic; Parade) with choreography by Karen Bruce (BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing; The Bodyguard) and is designed by Morgan Large (Newsies; Joseph and the Technicolor Dreamcoat).

Based on Ian Fleming’s timeless children’s story and the much-loved 1968 film, the production opens at Southampton’s Mayflower Theatre in April next year with current dates scheduled until December 2024.

The story follows siblings Jeremy and Jemima as they play truant from school and meet the beautiful Truly Scrumptious who end up falling for their absent-minded inventor father Caractus Potts. The family have restored an old racing car which they soon discover has magical powers and the fabulous foursome head off on a hilarious fantastical adventure to far off lands.
